These works are as much sculpture as they are painting. They are created by mounting polystyrene (closed cell foam) onto wood. The fish is then created by mounting sticks (usually from a Beech tree in my front yard) into and onto the foam. After the fish is sculpted, I carve the surface, add color, and heat the surface to create a bas relief. Finally the pieces are sealed under four coats of clear Krylon, protecting it from the elements. Click on image for larger view and description
